The use of electronic response systems or “clickers” is a popular way to engage students and create an active-learning environment, especially within large courses of general subjects for first-year undergraduates. The present work examines with detail the methodology, the tasks and the results obtained respect to the students’ learning, participation, and engagement in the classroom. In general, students perceived that, clickers provided a significant enhancement to their learning, and teachers obtained real-time feed-back of how the concepts are assimilated or not by the students in order to quickly introduce improvements in their teaching.
Teaching Dilemmas and Student Motivation in Project-based Learning in Secondary Education

This article aims to describe and analyze the dilemmas facing teachers when fostering student motivation in project-based learning (PjBL). The authors developed a project in secondary education through an action research approach. The different action research cycles aimed to solve dilemmas throughout the project and interpret them in terms of student motivation through the self-determination theory. According to this theory, autonomy, relatedness and competence are three psychological needs that, if fulfilled in the classroom, will lead to greater intrinsic motivation. Relativity is a very important part of modern physics. In this paper we analyze the teaching and learning of the theory of relativity in secondary education and we show some reasoned arguments against traditional methods to teach it. Finally, a didactic proposal for the teaching of relativity is presented; it comes as a conclusion that it is possible a suitable teaching of the principles of relative which should bring into the students a change in attitude, concepts and methodology.

Testing Motivacional theories in Music Education: the role of Effort and Gratitude

Acquiring musical skills requires sustained effort over long periods of time. This work aims to explore the variables involved in sustaining motivation in music students, including perceptions about one’s own skills, satisfaction with achievements, effort, the importance of music in one’s life, and perception of the sacrifice made. Two models were developed in which the variable of gratitude was included to integrate positive psychology into the motivational area of music education. In present-day educational contexts, the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and gamification has been the basis for implementing escape rooms as pedagogical tools. This paper examines the role of virtual escape rooms in boosting History learners' motivation in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) contexts.
